( Aerial photography FAQ )

The questions Charlotte agents and brokers ask first.

What does aerial photography cost in Charlotte?

Aerial photo add-on is $145 (8-12 edited HDR aerials of the property and grounds). Standard real estate package at $595 includes exterior aerial photos as part of the bundle. Commercial aerial work starts at $400 and is scope-quoted. Event-day aerial coverage (weddings, galas) starts at $1,750 because of the operational overhead.

How is aerial photography different from FPV flythroughs?

Aerial photography is gimbal drone capture from elevated positions: rooflines, lot context, neighborhood positioning, and exterior architectural detail. The drone hovers and captures stable HDR stills or smooth gimbal video. FPV flythroughs are first-person-view captures with a micro drone flying through doorways, down hallways, and around interiors in one continuous take. Different rigs, different rooms, different jobs. Most Charlotte listings need both: aerial for the exterior and lot context, FPV for the indoor flythrough.

What gear do you fly?

DJI Air 3 for standard aerial photography (dual-camera with telephoto for compressed exterior architectural shots) or the DJI Mini 5 Pro under 250 grams for shoots that require flying over people. Both FAA Part 107 certified, $1M liability through SkyWatch.ai, LAANC filed for Charlotte Class B every shoot. We do not use cinelifters for aerial work.

How many aerial photos do I get?

8 to 12 edited HDR aerials per shoot for residential listings. The set covers the front exterior at 30-50 feet, the elevated 100-foot context shot, the rear lot, the descending reveal showing the home in the neighborhood, and any architectural detail the property warrants. Commercial aerial sets are scope-driven, typically 12-25 images.

Do you do aerial photography for weddings and events?

Yes. Empty-mode venue showcase shoots include grounds aerials and exterior stills as part of the package. Event-day coverage is its own category with operational overhead: pre-flight walks, crew coordination, and the insurance posture indoor FPV around guests requires. The full breakdown is on /venues.

Are you insured?

$1M liability insurance through SkyWatch.ai. FAA Part 107 certified pilots on every shoot. Certificate of insurance with additional insured endorsement available on request, usually same-day. LAANC airspace authorizations filed for Charlotte Class B and Concord JQF Class D as needed.
