Every area we cover, compared.
The individual pages go deep on what shoots well in each area. This is the view you cannot get from any one of them: all nine side by side, with the ZIPs and the price bands that actually drive package selection.

Price bands are what listings in each area typically trade at, not what a shoot costs. Package pricing is flat by square footage and identical everywhere we fly. See the pricing page.
Where the metro sits under controlled airspace.
Charlotte Douglas is Class B, which on a chart looks like an upside-down wedding cake: a surface area at the airport with shelves stepping outward and upward. Those shelves reach much further than most property owners expect, and a large share of the metro sits under one. It stops almost nothing. It does mean authorization gets filed before the shoot, and it means short notice is the real constraint.
Tightest
Steele Creek, Dilworth, South End, Uptown. Closest to the airport and to approach and departure corridors. Authorization is routine and usually instant, but this is where low grid ceilings are most likely, and where a zero-foot grid means a manual request measured in days rather than seconds.
Routine
Myers Park, Eastover, SouthPark, Madison Park, Plaza Midwood, NoDa, Ballantyne. Inner and mid ring, under the Class B shelves. LAANC authorization clears in seconds on the large majority of these addresses and the shoot proceeds as scheduled.
Usually clear
Waxhaw, Weddington, Marvin, and the northern Lake Norman corridor. Far enough out that many addresses fall outside CLT's shelves entirely. Concord and the northeast metro are the exception: Concord-Padgett is Class D and carries its own authorization.
One caveat worth stating plainly: the FAA revises its facility maps, and grid ceilings change. Any operator quoting you a ceiling for your block from memory is guessing. We check the current map against the specific address every time, which is why we ask for it before quoting anything unusual. The full airspace guide covers how authorization works and what a stadium TFR does to an uptown shoot window.
What is standard, and where travel starts.
No travel charge
Everything on this page, plus the rest of Mecklenburg County and the immediate ring: Matthews, Mint Hill, Pineville, Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Concord, Harrisburg, Fort Mill, and Indian Trail. If it is a normal Charlotte metro drive, it is in the package price.
Quoted with travel
Mooresville, Statesville, Rock Hill, Gastonia, Monroe, Lake Wylie's South Carolina side, and the outer Union and Cabarrus County builds. Usually a modest addition rather than a different rate, and it is quoted before you book rather than added after.
Our other home metro
Raleigh and the Triangle are not a travel job. Marshal is based there and covers Wake County at standard rates while Hunter runs Charlotte, so a listing on either end of the state books the same way. See Triangle coverage. Asheville, Greenville, Columbia, and the Carolina coast are quoted with travel and lodging as line items.
Scheduling note that matters more than geography: the shoot window is set by light and weather, not distance. A Waxhaw estate and an uptown condo both get the same 24-hour delivery once the shoot happens.
